Gamecocks in Houston: Reunion Edition

First, it was the four horsemen.... Minnie, Meanie, Merkie, & Mixie. Then it was VPP or V Psi Phi, better known as the USC volleyball team. Whatever foolishness happened in those four years, nothing will take the place of the good time with my teammates that have turned into life long friends.

Lets see... We pretended to be WNBA Atlanta Dream players, getting into clubs under false pretenses. We paraded down the streets of Toronto for Caribana. Tanned on the sandy Miami beaches. We danced nights away amongst the stars in LA. We fake gambled with pro poker players in Vegas. Discovered the true culture of the Concrete Jungle known as New York City. And this year... why not eat our hearts out in Houston while visiting the Coach.

the best souffle I have ever had, served with bottomless Mimosas! Yum!!!

If there is one thing I can say about Houston.... ooh its hot... Really!!! I sweated my skin off there. But its also a hot city to live in, like "P"hot. I feel I always judge a city by its downtown and the many times we drove pass, I could tell it was fly.

But can I add it has the weirdest and most difficult highway system I have ever witnessed. I felt lost for the the first time ever in my life.... Getting back to the trip... Oh yeah we ate some more. I cannot sit here and even tell you about the next wonderful place we dined. It was called The Breakfast Klub. I had the wings and grits plate. It came with too eggs, sunny side up chicken and grits with a biscuit on the side and some hot sauce of course. Breakfast of a champion for sure. Out of all the places we visited that was truly my favorite. If you are ever in Houston I highly recommend this joint > www.thebreakfastklub.com Also peep my new clutch from American Outfitters.

Nicole also treated our sweet tooth. After a day of shopping we stopped in at Kegg's Candies. First off when I walked in, my face immediately started to break out. But it was okay because I was in chocolate heaven. Any type of candy you have ever imagined was in this store. Shonda and I ended up buying the hugest slice of chocolate cake. I don't even know that we finished it, but it was GREAT! Go there too > www.keggscandies.com

Other than eating, which we did a lot of, Nicole was gracious enough to lend us her car while she diligently worked at U of Houston. What else to do by shop some more. Actually Nicole has a mall about 5 minutes away from her house. Hello!!! Two floors and huge. Here we ran into two things that changed my life. First, the Clinique counter as we were cutting through Neimen Marcus. Key words... CUTTING THROUGH. The Clinique lady waved us down and gave us the skin care make over of our lives... so far. She first asked if we were models... Ha! Then she asked if we were sisters. Ha Ha! We always lie. Anyways, we drank the kool-aide and purchased some products. I must say I am a believer still until this day.

The second live changing event was stopping by the Mac makeup store, I learned there was makeup for my complexion. Double win. I have had such a hard time finding products that blend so well, and Mac was perfect. Upon buying foundation a worker asked to do my whole face. MAKEOVER! I'm not a big fan of lipstick, mostly because I was just insecure about how it matched my skin. But he matched this almost orange red perfectly. I felt beautiful when I left. Still a little conscientious about wearing loud color, but I have learned almost every lipstick goes with my skin. WIN!

Later that last night we watched Nicole take the court again. She was bossy as always.... lol

It was an amazing time. Its always great to meet up with these girls. I look forward to the reunion every year.

Some would say the college is the best time you'll ever have in your life. I can say that is half true for me. Ive had my ups and downs in my collegiate career for sure, but one thing is for sure... those friendships will last forever. The inside jokes, the skype conference calls from different countries and of course the yearly reunions; these good times make it seem like the only reason I went to USC was to meet these people and be fortunate to have them as friends.

Oh wait! I almost forgot about my new found activity.....

PLANKING!!!!! No its not a reference to the slaves. Come on, not everything is a reference to slavery. Lighten up people, its a yoga pose.

Get on my Level!
